Julie Allard M.Sc., C.Biol., MRSB, MCSFS.

Julie is a well known forensic expert specialising in body fluids and DNA interpretation, particularly in the area of sexual offences and has authored publications throughout her career.

She has over 40 years’ experience of reporting a wide range of body fluid and DNA cases as an expert witness in addition to providing case specific advice for the CCRC.  She has given oral court evidence on hundreds of occasions, predominantly at the Old Bailey. As a consultant for Forensic Context she routinely provides expert advice to defence teams.

She was formerly Principal Scientist within the Forensic Science Service (FSS), accountable nationally for body fluids and leading on quality, training and casework matters.  Over her 10 years of scientific leadership in the FSS she was instrumental in developing and implementing national standards and in improving quality and consistency within the organisation.  Her input to quality standards continues via co-authorship of various codes of practice for the Forensic Science Regulator.  Most recently she co-authored guidance for the “Assessment, Collection and Recording of Forensic Related Evidence in Sexual Assault Forensic Medical Examinations” which will be published in 2020.

She has developed and delivered training throughout her career to a wide range of audiences, most recently including training CSIs in Europe on the forensic investigation of sexual offences, CPD sessions at various chambers and lectures to university students.

Kerri Allen BSc, MSc, MCSFS.

Kerri is a highly experienced forensic expert in body fluids, DNA interpretation (including Low Template DNA results) and in the more niche area of fibres and hairs.

She has worked for the Home Office, Metropolitan Police and the Forensic Science Service (FSS), accumulating more than 30 years’ experience as an expert witness in a wide range of case types including murder, other violent crimes and sexual offences.   She worked for several years as part of a team focused on sexual offences and has in depth and wide experience of this case type.

As a consultant for Forensic Context Kerri is routinely engaged by defence teams but has also worked on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service.

Kerri has delivered training to a wide range of audiences over her career. Most recently she has been a part-time lecturer London Southbank University and has guest lectured at both Kingston University and The City Law School (City, University of London).  She has developed and delivered an animal hair identification training day for conservators in conjunction with the Horniman Museum.

She is committed providing forensic science of the highest quality and has co-authored one of the codes of practice for the Forensic Science Regulator.  She is an active member of the UK Fibre Forum.
